Logo & Name
The grindstone - a tip of the cap to our home state of Connecticut whose history is intertwined with the use of grinding stones, from prehistoric times through the industrial era - Sharpen your game! Our name 1868 is a nod to the Springdale community that The Club calls home. In mid-1868, a local post office was established, and the name “Springdale” became officially recognized for the area. Springdale would later become part of Stamford in 1949.
